
Students from the Arab Open University in the Kingdom of Bahrain achieved a remarkable achievement by obtaining second place in the Artificial Intelligence Hackathon AI+X 2025, which was hosted by the State of Kuwait during the period from 12 to 13 November 2025, as part of the activities of the Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence Horizons.
The event also witnessed broad participation from governmental and regional agencies, as well as an elite group of academics, experts and decision-makers. Youth teams specialized in the fields of technology and innovation also competed and presented solutions based on artificial intelligence to address realistic challenges in education, work and services, amid strong competition in which the Bahraini student team demonstrated a distinguished level of creativity and ability to employ artificial intelligence techniques, which deservedly qualified them to win second place.
This achievement reflects the university’s keenness to support its students and provide an educational environment that stimulates creativity and contributes to consolidating future skills. The university administration expressed its pride in this distinction, stressing that the victory reflects the students’ commitment and their ability to compete regionally in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
The administration also confirmed that the university continues to support student talents, provide an educational environment that enables them to apply their knowledge in real-life projects, and participate in local and regional competitions that enhance innovation and entrepreneurship skills.
