The Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Assiut announced the continuation of implementing its field campaigns within the national strategy to combat rabies and limit the spread of stray dogs.

Dr. Jamal Sayed Ahmed, Director General of the Directorate, said that an expanded campaign targeted all dogs and vaccinated them against rabies, in addition to numbering and sterilizing them inside the shelter center, ensuring a healthy environment for the animals and cutting the chain of transmission of infection.

Efforts also continued, with an additional campaign that strengthened the scope of field work, to confirm the directorate’s commitment to continuity and careful follow-up in protecting society from the threat of rabies. The efforts did not stop there, but were completed by a third campaign that extended to new areas, covering a wider scope, and completing what had begun in the previous days of collecting and vaccinating dogs, with the continuation of numbering and sterilization operations inside the shelter center, in a scene that reflects a real commitment to the national strategy, stressing that these campaigns are not just a reaction, but a plan. Integrated, implemented with determination and precise succession.

Dr. Jamal Sayed Ahmed, Director General of the Directorate, confirmed that the work teams are working continuously according to a precise plan that includes vaccinating, numbering and sterilizing free-range dogs, stressing that community interaction is the basic foundation for the success of these efforts, and that the ultimate goal is to reach a safe environment for humans and animals alike.
