The delegation of the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain participated this morning in the twenty-second meeting of the Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee. This meeting comes in preparation for the nineteenth regular meeting of the heads of the Shura, Representatives, National and Nation Councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which the Kingdom of Bahrain is hosting during the period between 11 and 13 November.
The participating Parliamentary Division delegation includes Mr. Sadiq Al Rahma, a member of the Shura Council, Representative Khaled Saleh Bu Anq, and Engineer Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Sisi Al-Buainain, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division.
Mr. Sadiq Al Rahma, a member of the Shura Council and a member of the Parliamentary Division delegation, confirmed during a speech he delivered at the meeting that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, believes that Gulf parliamentary work constitutes a basic pillar in building the desired integration among the GCC countries, stressing that the Parliamentary Coordination Committee External relations represent an effective platform for consolidating this approach and enhancing the path of parliamentary cooperation towards broader horizons of coordination, harmony and positive influence in regional and international forums.
Al Rahma added that the ties of history, kinship and one destiny that unite us, and the unity of purpose and belonging, make us more determined to move forward in developing our legislative, oversight and parliamentary diplomacy tools, to be a unified voice that reflects the Gulf position and defends its just causes in various regional and international forums, expressing great pride and appreciation for the distinguished efforts and continuous giving that the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council is making, embodying sincerity. And deep belonging to the process of joint Gulf action.
During the meeting, the draft agenda and final statement were reviewed, including reports and recommendations, in preparation for presenting them to the nineteenth regular meeting of the heads of the Shura, Representatives, National and Nation Councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries for adoption as part of the final decisions.
The nineteenth regular meeting of the heads of the Shura, Representative, National and Nation Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries is scheduled to be held on Thursday morning, to review the report of the eighteenth regular meeting and the recommendations of the symposium “The Legislative Role of the Legislative and Gulf Councils in the Governance of Artificial Intelligence”, and to discuss the most prominent common Gulf topics and develop strategies to increase the momentum of Gulf parliamentary cooperation among the various parliaments of the world, and for the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council to join the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) as a observer; accompanied by concluding recommendations.
