The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, confirmed that the Gulf Cooperation Council’s pavilion represents the culmination of the Council’s journey spanning more than 44 years, noting that it takes the visitor on a historical journey that begins with the pre-establishment stage, through the construction stage, all the way to the stages of Gulf achievement and integration in various fields. Al-Budaiwi explained that the pavilion highlights the efforts and activities undertaken by the Council since its establishment in 1981 until today, in the military, administrative, economic, pedagogical, judicial, and other fields, stressing that the visitor will find in the pavilion rich material that clearly explains the path of the Cooperation Council and its joint achievements. The Secretary-General’s statement comes during the opening of the Gulf Cooperation Council pavilion accompanying the 46th Gulf Summit, which is held at the Bahrain National Museum, in the presence of the Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, and Minister of Information Dr. Ramzan Al Nuaimi, and a number of ambassadors, officials and dignitaries, as it aims to highlight the history of the Council and its role in enhancing cooperation and integration among its member states.
Al Budawi explained that he looks forward with passion and happiness to the Kingdom of Bahrain assuming the presidency of the next session of the Gulf Cooperation Council, stressing his confidence that the Bahraini administration will lead the work of the Council next year with distinction, wisdom and ability. He pointed out that the next Gulf summit will be held on December 3, and that its agenda will be full of topics of interest to the Gulf peoples, and touch upon their aspirations towards greater cooperation and integration among the GCC countries.
