Hussein Al-Shahat, the club player, said Al-AhlyHis team’s victory over Ceramica Cleopatra in the semi-finals of the Egyptian Super Cup was very important for restoring confidence during the current period.
Al-Ahly defeated Ceramica Cleopatra by a score of 2-1, to qualify for the final of the tournament scheduled to be held next Sunday, awaiting the winner of the confrontation between Zamalek and Pyramids.
Al-Shahat added in statements to On Sport channel after the match: We needed to win against Ceramica Cleopatra. We had chances to score more goals, but the most important thing was to achieve victory in the end.
Al-Shahat continued: There is no difference between who participates or sits on the bench. Our goal is for Al-Ahly to win only.
The Al-Ahly winger explained that he is progressing steadily in the rehabilitation phase from the injury, stressing that he hopes to return soon to participate with the team, saying: I am now in the rehabilitation phase and I hope that things will go well.
Al-Shahat also spoke about the hospitality he received at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in the Emirati city of Al Ain, where he said: Al Ain Club is my home, and I am very happy to be here again in my former stadium.
Hussein Al-Shahat concluded his statements by emphasizing that the team’s focus is entirely on winning the Super Cup, adding: Our goal is to win the Super Cup regardless of the identity of the competitor, whether Zamalek or Pyramids.
Al-Ahly’s goals in the match were scored by Mahmoud Trezeguet in the 19th minute and Netz Gradishar in the 52nd minute, while Marwan Othman scored Ceramica’s only goal in the 41st minute.
With this victory, Al-Ahly qualified for the Egyptian Super Cup final for the twentieth time in its history, and the fourteenth in a row.
