Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, stressed that all neighborhood heads must coordinate with the General Traffic Department to launch daily campaigns to stop tuk-tuk vehicles violating the traffic route and seize them in the neighborhoods, in preparation for taking the legally prescribed measures before them, by submitting them to the competent judicial authorities.

The Governor of Cairo also stressed the continuation of campaigns to ban children’s electric scooters from the streets and confiscate them immediately, while taking the necessary legal measures against any store that sells them, as they are considered dangerous toys that threaten children’s safety.
The Governor of Cairo confirmed that the decision to ban children’s scooters from the streets of Cairo comes as part of several measures aimed at restoring street discipline, including a ban on tuk-tuk vehicles on the main streets.
In this context, the executive authorities in the neighborhoods of Mokattam, Helwan, Al-Maasara, and Sayyida Zeinab launched campaigns that resulted in the confiscation of 28 tuk-tuks that were being driven on the main streets and were seized by the traffic police. Also, 11 scooters found on the streets in violation of the Cairo Governor’s decision were seized, and the necessary legal measures were taken against the violators.
