His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Riffa Club, expressed his pride in the great success achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain in hosting the Third Asian Youth Games, which are considered the largest in the history of the Kingdom with the participation of 45 countries and more than 5,000 male and female athletes who competed in 26 different sports.
His Excellency the President of the Riffa Club said that this honorable success is the culmination of the ambitious vision of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, who accepted the challenge in a record period of time and proved to the world that Bahrain is capable of organizing major sporting events with the highest standards of professionalism and excellence.
He added that the exceptional organization and high level demonstrated by the tournament reflect Bahrain’s advanced position on the map of Asian and global sports, and embody the spirit of challenge and creativity that distinguishes the nation’s youth and its wise leadership.
