The Bahrain handball team achieved a landslide victory over its Maldivian counterpart, with a score of 74-13, in its second match in the group stage, in the meeting that brought together the two teams yesterday evening, Monday, at the Federation Hall in the sports hall complex in Umm Al Hassam.

Our team ended the first half with a large lead of 34-6, after a strong performance and complete dominance over the course of the game, with clear superiority in the defensive and offensive aspects.

With this victory, our team raised its score to 4 points at the top of the group standings, confirming its high readiness and great ambitions to compete for a new Asian medal in this edition of the tournament.

The Bahraini team did not find it difficult to decide the match in its favor, benefiting from the difference in experience and technical capabilities in front of the Maldivian team. The technical staff was also keen to invest in the match in giving all players the opportunity to participate and gain more harmony, in preparation for the upcoming stronger matches during the tournament.

Volleyball loses to Pakistan

On the other hand, the Bahrain boys’ volleyball team narrowly lost to its counterpart, the Pakistani team, with a score of 0-3, in the match that brought them together at the Al-Ittihad Hall of the Issa Bin Rashid Sports Hall Complex, within the group stage competitions.

The results of the rounds were as follows: 25-18, 26-24, 25-23, where our team presented a strong performance and great competition, especially in the second and third halves.

As for the girls’ competition, the Bahrain volleyball team lost to the Iranian team by three games to no avail.

On the other hand, the Bahrain boys’ beach volleyball team began its journey by losing to the Sri Lankan team with a score of two halves to no return, the details of which were 22-20 and 21-7. In the girls’ beach volleyball competition, our national team lost to the Maldives team with the same score of 0-2, by 21-9 and 21-12.
