The local unit of the center and city of Paris in the New Valley Governorate announced today, Saturday, the launch of a project to raise the efficiency and develop the city’s streets, with funding amounting to 5 million pounds, to install 16 thousand meters of interlock tiles after inspecting the targeted sites on the ground.
Improving traffic and citizen service
Accountant Abdel Nasser Saleh, President of the Center and City of Paris, confirmed that the implementation aims to improve traffic and serve citizens, provided that the plan will be completed directly by widening the main street from Triangle Square towards the south to provide parking for cars, ensuring traffic flow and greater safety for pedestrians.
The head of the center stressed that the funding came from the governor’s support for the Paris Center, and is completely directed to the infrastructure within the city, with priority given to streets with high traffic density and service needs. The works include installing 16,000 interlock meters, treating levels, and preparing entrances and corners to ensure the stability of the slabs and the sustainability of the service, with daily technical follow-up of the pace and quality of implementation. The path comes in parallel with an expansion plan. Main Street and creating parking spaces to prevent crowding and improve traffic flow.
The head of the center conducted field tours to inspect the targeted streets during implementation, to determine paving priorities and replacement and renewal sites.
Abdel Nasser added that the installation of the interlock is being completed first, and then the work of the new plan to expand the main axes and allocate waiting spaces will begin immediately, taking into account safety requirements and accessibility for people of determination at traffic corridors and intersections.
