The General Authority of Meteorology revealed the details of the expected weather conditions today, Sunday, October 12, 2025, explaining that the country is witnessing stable autumn weather, tending to be cold in the early morning, and tending to be hot during the day in most areas, while it will be hot in South Upper Egypt, and moderate in temperature at the beginning of the night, tending to be cold at dawn.
Today’s weather forecast
Meteorology reported that Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt record maximum temperatures between 27 and 28 degrees Celsius, while on the northern coasts they range between 26 and 28 degrees. In North Upper Egypt, highs reach 28-29 degrees Celsius, and the weather is hotter in South Upper Egypt, where it records 33 to 34 degrees Celsius.
Influencing weather phenomena
The authority expected a dense water mist to appear in the morning from 4 to 8 a.m. on agricultural and highway roads leading to and from the north of the country, Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, the canal cities, and central Sinai, which may cause a temporary decrease in horizontal visibility.
The forecasts also indicated chances of light rain falling on areas of the northern coasts and northern Lower Egypt, at intermittent intervals, with a weak possibility (20%) of light rain in Greater Cairo and southern Lower Egypt.
Wind activity and the state of Bahrain
Areas of the northern coasts, South Sinai, North Upper Egypt, and the New Valley are witnessing moderate wind activity at intermittent intervals, which contributes to cooling the weather during the day and at night.
With regard to maritime navigation, the Authority warned of turbulence in the Mediterranean Sea, especially at the coasts of Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Damietta and Port Said, where wind speeds range between 40 and 50 km/h, and wave heights reach 2 to 3 metres.
Meteorological warnings
The General Authority of Meteorology called on citizens to be careful while driving early in the morning due to fog, and to avoid practicing marine activities in areas experiencing navigation disturbances. It also stressed taking all necessary preventive measures and preparations to limit the impact of expected weather phenomena.
