US President Donald Trump confirmed that the tariffs imposed on China are “not permanent,” indicating that the current measures were coercive.
Trump said: “They forced me to do it, and it is not permanent,” referring to the trade tariffs exchanged between Washington and Beijing.
The US President added that he expects that “things will go well with China,” expressing his aspiration to reach fair trade deals with Beijing.
He continued: “I will meet the Chinese President within two weeks.”
