The victim was killed at the beginning of this year in Hurghada, and the Criminal Court of Appeal held its first session on October 25, where the court rejected the defendants’ defense requests, and the victim’s defense case is scheduled to be completed.
The city of Hurghada witnessed a heinous murder, where a young man was killed by three other young men. The victim was found to be Hamed Ashraf Haraji, 17 years old, residing in the Al-Dahar neighborhood in Hurghada. A report was drawn up about the incident and the agencies began investigations.
Details revealed that the incident began after a wedding party after a quarrel broke out between the victim’s friends and another group of young men. The victim intervened to break up the quarrel and calm things down so that everyone could return to their homes and everyone thought that the matter was over. However, the perpetrators lurked for the victim the next day and suddenly attacked him. They assaulted him after handcuffing him, then stabbed him in the head and heart, which led to his immediate death. The body was transferred to the Hurghada General Hospital morgue.
The Second Circuit of the Red Sea Criminal Court, headed by Counselor Walid Muhammad Danana, ruled to punish two of the defendants with aggravated imprisonment for 15 years, while the third defendant was punished with 7 years in prison, after they were convicted of assaulting the victim and stabbing him to death.
