Today.. Bahraini participation in 7 games in the Third Asian Youth Games

Today (Wednesday), the Bahraini national teams continue to participate in the third Asian Youth Games, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain until October 31st, as today witnesses an intense Bahraini presence in seven games: badminton, swimming, cycling, electronic sports, jiu-jitsu, weightlifting, and wrestling.

The competitions will begin this morning in Hall (D) of the Issa bin Rashid Sports Hall Complex in Riffa, where the male and female players of our national badminton team will compete in the girls’ and boys’ singles competitions starting at nine in the morning.

Players Nour Fardeen and Fatima Sayed Ehsan are participating in the girls’ singles category, while Bahrain is represented in the boys’ singles category by players Ali Kifah and Sayed Ibrahim Khalil, seeking to qualify for the final rounds.

Bahraini participation continues in the swimming competitions held at the Khalifa Sports City swimming pool, where the preliminary rounds begin at ten in the morning with the wide participation of Bahraini male and female swimmers.

Swimmers Adam Hussein and Mohamed Mahmoud will participate in the 200-meter freestyle race, while swimmer Lamar Hussein will participate in the same race for the girls’ category, in addition to her participation in the 100-meter backstroke race. Swimmers Jassim Mohammed and Issa Khaled will also compete in the 100-meter backstroke competition for the male category.

In the breaststroke races, swimmers Meron Antoun and Fares Hani participate in the 100-meter breaststroke race, while Sarah Mahdi represents Bahrain in the same race for the girls’ category.

The swimming team’s participation concludes today with the mixed relay race, which includes the Bahraini quartet, Issa Khaled, Meron Anton, Sarah Mahdi, and Lamar Hussein, in an anticipated competition that brings together multiple teams from various participating countries.

Early this morning, the His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cycling Track in the Zallaq area will begin the 100 km road race competition for the boys category, with the participation of four riders: Hassan Aqeel, Hussein Ali, Thamer Aqeel, and Issa Saleh.

At the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, players Nasser Aqeel, Hassan Aqeel, and Syed Ali Adel Ghamar are competing in the Rocket League 3×3 e-sports competition, which is one of the games that has witnessed an increasing demand among young people in recent sessions.

This appearance represents a continuation of the Bahraini presence in modern sports that keeps pace with technological and digital developments in the sports field, amid aspirations to achieve positive results.

Jiu-Jitsu competitions also begin today in the halls of the Bahrain International Exhibition Center, with strong Bahraini participation, as the Bahraini national team is represented by players Hamad Fouad and Youssef Mercer in the under-56 kg weight, and Pedro Bessie in the under-85 kg weight.

The preliminary rounds will be held in the morning, starting at nine o’clock, and will continue until the evening, which will witness the final rounds being held and the medals being determined.

The Bahraini Jiu-Jitsu national team hopes to achieve a successful start that will pave the way for great ambitions in this competition.

As for weightlifting, weightlifter Adrian Norman will participate in the 79 kg competition in the preliminary round (first qualifier).

Wrestling competitions also continue with Bahraini participation in three weight categories, as wrestler Hassan Mohammed competes in the 48-kg qualifier, while Aseel Khaled participates in the 55-kg weight category, and Nasser Mohammed participates in the 65-kg weight category.
