During a surprise inspection campaign, the Supply Investigations Department in Menoufia, led by Colonel Ahmed Abu Al-Saud, and in coordination with the Egyptian Medicine Authority, was able to target an illegal industrial entity in the city of Shebin El-Kom, which specialized in producing counterfeit medical preparations to achieve profits through illegal means, as part of the efforts of the governorate agencies to intensify oversight of markets and industrial and commercial facilities.

This came in implementation of the directives of Major General Ibrahim Abu Laymoun, Governor of Menoufia, to intensify inspection and monitoring campaigns and continue preemptive strikes to arrest violators, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to combat all forms of commercial fraud and protect the health of citizens.
During the campaign, a person with an intermediate qualification was arrested for running an unlicensed factory to manufacture medical products using materials of unknown origin and poor quality, without adhering to the minimum safety standards, with the aim of misleading regulatory authorities and making illegal gains.
The campaign resulted in the seizure and seizure of more than 4 tons of production supplies, including a ton of hydrogen peroxide, 1.3 tons of liquid gentian and microchrome inside unmarked barrels, a ton and 200 kg of medicinal oils, 525 kg of Betadine liquid prepared for packaging, 315 kg of Betadine and Texapone powder of unknown origin, in addition to 24,320 A final product package, 50,000 empty packages, 70,000 packaging cartons, and 30,000 stickers prepared to package the final product.
The necessary legal measures were taken against the factory owner, and the seized items were kept at the disposal of the competent investigation authorities.
For his part, the Governor of Menoufia appreciated the efforts of the Supply Investigation Department and the Egyptian Medicine Authority in pursuing violators and intensifying field campaigns and pre-emptive strikes to protect citizens from commercial fraud, stressing the continued strict control over markets and industrial facilities to control prices and prevent the circulation of goods of unknown origin.
