Dr. Muhammad Abdel Malik Hassan, Vice President of Al-Azhar University for Upper Egypt, was honored in the presence of Dr. Abdel Fattah Bahij Al-Awari, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Dr. Mustafa Abu Al-Enein, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Abdel Rahman Hassan, Vice Dean of the Faculty, Hossam Mahran, Assistant Secretary-General of the branch, Dr. Ahmed Kishk, General Director of Student Welfare in Cairo, Muhammad Hussein Abu Al-Ela, Director of the Youth Welfare Department in Upper Egypt, and Hani Darwish, Head of the Youth Welfare Department at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, And the winning students in the grand competition for memorizing the Holy Qur’an for boys’ colleges, which was organized by the Youth Welfare Department in Upper Egypt in cooperation with the College of Sharia and Law in Assiut.

The competition was sponsored by His Eminence Professor Dr. Salama Dawoud, President of Al-Azhar University, and His Eminence Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdel Malek, Vice President of the University of Upper Egypt, within the framework of the university’s keenness to instill Quranic values in the souls of its students and encourage them to memorize the Book of God.
The ceremony began with the national anthem and the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by the student, followed by a speech by Professor Dr. Abdel Fattah Bahij Al-Awari, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law in Assiut, in which he welcomed the Vice President of the University and the attendees, expressing his pride in the college hosting this blessed competition and his pride in serving the Holy Qur’an and its students, as the memorizers of the Qur’an are the light that illuminates the path of the nation, wishing continued success and success to all students.
During his speech, His Eminence Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdel Malek, Vice President of the University of Upper Egypt, conveyed the greetings of His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and His Eminence Professor Dr. Salama Daoud, President of the University, expressing his great happiness at what he saw of the distinguished level of participating students, stressing that Al-Azhar University was and continues to be a beacon for the Holy Qur’an and its campaign, adding that honoring the memorizers of the Book of God is honoring the Qur’an itself, and encouraging For our students to adhere to it in curriculum and behavior, and Al-Azhar University pays special attention to everything that enhances the religious and moral values on which this ancient scientific edifice is based.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the Vice President of Al-Azhar University for Upper Egypt honored Professor Ibtisam Bahaa El-Din Abdel Aziz, Director of the Female Student Welfare Office at the Faculty of Islamic and Arab Studies for Girls in Sohag, for her ladyship having reached the legal age of retirement.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the names of the winners were announced and awards were distributed to them, amid an atmosphere of joy and pride in what the sons of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif had achieved in terms of distinction and excellence in memorizing the Book of God Almighty.
It is worth noting that more than 60 students participated in the competition at the college level in Upper Egypt, and the competition was won by one of the Assiut colleges. First place: Student Youssef Abdel Aziz Hamed, Faculty of Medicine in Assiut.
Second place: Student Sayed Mahmoud Sayed, Faculty of Medicine in Assiut.
Third place: Student Muhammad Saad Muhammad, Faculty of Dentistry.
Fourth place: Student Muhammad Mustafa Abdel Razek, Faculty of Agriculture.
Fifth place: Student Ayman Omar Ahmed Kamal, Faculty of Sharia and Law.
Sixth place: Student Omar Sayed Omar Muhammad, College of Medicine.
Seventh place: Student Muhammad Salah Muharram Abdel Hadi, Faculty of Pharmacy.
Eighth place: Student Mustafa Abdel Rahim Abdel Rahman, Faculty of Sharia and Law.
Ninth place: Student Ahmed Shalabi Abdel Tawab, Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion and Da’wah.
Tenth place: Student Abdul Rahman Ahmed Ali Ahmed, College of Science
At the level of colleges in Upper Egypt, first place: Karim Mahmoud Mustafa, Faculty of Engineering, Qena
Second place: Islam Muhammad Hafez, Faculty of Studies, Qena
Third place: Muhammad Hassan Muhammad, Qena College of Engineering
Fourth place: Fahd Ahmed Ali, Faculty of Studies, Aswan
Fifth place: Mohamed Abdel Razek Ali, Faculty of Studies, Aswan.
