Tomorrow, Saturday, the activities of the third national vaccination campaign against foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever will begin within the scope of Menoufia Governorate, and will continue for a full month in all centers, cities and villages of the governorate, under the auspices of Major General Ibrahim Abu Laymoun, Governor of Menoufia, and within the framework of implementing the national plan for the protection and development of livestock.
The start of the national vaccination campaign against foot-and-mouth disease in Menoufia
Dr. Maged Abdel Zaher, Director of the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Menoufia, confirmed that the campaign aims to vaccinate, register and number livestock to ensure tracking and prevention of epidemic diseases, explaining that field veterinary committees will begin their work through the headquarters prepared for the campaign, in addition to moving to breeders in their homes to provide the necessary vaccinations.
The Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate added that there is a continuous follow-up of the progress of the committees’ work, in addition to implementing guidance campaigns to educate citizens about the importance of vaccination and its role in preserving livestock and improving their productivity, which contributes to creating a safe food environment and raising the standard of living of farmers.
The Governor of Menoufia directed the heads of local units to cooperate fully with the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine and to provide the necessary facilities for the success of the campaign and to announce it on a large scale, praising the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture in implementing national campaigns aimed at supporting breeders and developing livestock in all governorates of the Republic.
