Engineer Jamal Abdulaziz Al-Alawi, Secretary General of the Tenders and Auctions Board, participated in the “Tree Week” activities, by planting a number of trees in Bahrain Bay, with the participation of a number of officials and employees of the Council.
On this occasion, the Secretary-General stressed the importance of Tree Week as one of the national initiatives supporting the achievement of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s goals of environmental sustainability and carbon neutrality, noting that participation in these events comes in line with the trends aimed at enhancing environmental awareness and consolidating the culture of preserving natural resources.
Al-Alawi added that the Tenders and Auctions Board is keen to support national initiatives aimed at protecting the environment, and believes in the importance of collective action in achieving the goals of the national afforestation plan, which seeks to double the number of trees to 3.6 million trees by the year 2035, in line with the commitments of the Kingdom of Bahrain within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
