The team, Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, affirmed that the authority chose to celebrate the glorious October victories this year by opening a new project that represents a qualitative shift in the transit and development system in the region, in implementation of a presidential commission aimed at creating the infrastructure and achieving the targets of the investment area and the navigation corridor.

The team, Rabie, explained, in televised statements, that the authority celebrated on the morning of the sixth of October 2025, the opening of the martyr’s bridge, Model Ibrahim Awadallah (Western Bridge) at the kilometer 86,600, the numbering of the Suez Canal, noting that it is considered the No. 6 Bridge within the floating bridge chain on the new Suez Canal.
He added that the new bridge represents an extension of the eastern bridge based on the channel, which contributes to the completion of the new axis to connect to the central sector of the Suez Canal, and enhances the transit movement between the two banks of the channel, especially for trucks, in a way that creates a supportive environment to attract investments and motivate development in the Sinai Peninsula and the channel area.
The head of the commission congratulated President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi on the occasion of the glorious October victory anniversary, stressing that the authority is continuing to implement 15 new bridges within a comprehensive plan to develop the transit system, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership, provided that all the new bridges are completed by next February of 2026.
