A number of students from Kafr Shukr Technical Secondary School for Girls, who were involved in a rollover accident involving a semi-truck on the Kafr Shukr-Al-Mufti Road, appealed to Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia, for the necessity of providing safe means of transportation to transport them to and from school, stressing that quarter-tube vehicles are inhuman and lack safety and security requirements.
The students pointed out that the majority of drivers who rely on them for transportation do not have driving licenses and ignore traffic rules, which puts their lives at risk on a daily basis and increases the chances of similar accidents occurring.
This morning, the Kafr Shukr – Al-Mufti road witnessed an accident in which a semi-truck carrying a number of female students overturned while they were returning to their homes in the villages of the local unit in the village of Kafr Tasfa, which resulted in them sustaining separate injuries, and they were transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
Immediately, Mustafa Abdo, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in Qalyubia Governorate, made an inspection visit to the school and the hospital to check on the health condition of the injured students, in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Education and the Governor of Qalyubia to follow up on the repercussions of the accident and provide full support to the injured.
“Abdo” confirmed that there is no danger to the students’ health, noting that he was keen to meet them and check on them personally, and to provide them with psychological and moral support, stressing that the directorate is following the situation moment by moment until all those injured have fully recovered.
The Undersecretary explained that a search is underway for the car driver who fled after the accident, as the security services have intensified their efforts to arrest him and take legal measures against him.
