The Shura Council forms its permanent committees and elects their chairmen and deputies

During its second session of the fourth session of the sixth legislative term yesterday, Sunday, the Shura Council formed its permanent committees, where the heads of the committees and their deputies were elected in accordance with the provisions of the Council’s internal regulations.

The Council elected Dalal Al-Zayed as Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, Adel Al-Mawda as Vice-Chairman, while Ali Al-Rumaihi assumed the Chairmanship of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa as Vice-Chairman.

The Council also chose Khaled Al-Maskati as Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, and Reda Faraj as Vice-Chairman, while Jalila Al-Salman won the position of Chairman of the Services Committee, and Talal Al-Mannai as Vice-Chairman.

As for the Public Utilities and Environment Committee, it was chaired by Muhammad Ali Hassan, and Jumaa Al Kaabi was elected as Vice-Chairman, while Ijlal Bubshait was elected Chairperson of the Women and Children Affairs Committee, and Lina Habib was Vice-Chairman.

In the Youth Affairs Committee, Redha Monfaridi won the presidency, and Hisham Al-Qassab became his deputy. Dr. Muhammad Al-Khuzaie also assumed the presidency of the Human Rights Committee, and Ali Al-Shehabi assumed the position of vice-president.

In the same context, the Council elected four members nominated to represent it in the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, after five members were nominated, namely Jamal Fakhro, Reda Monfardi, Ali Al-Haddad, Ali Al-Shehabi, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Khuzai.

The results of the voting resulted in Ali Al-Shehabi winning the highest number of votes with 30 votes, followed by Jamal Fakhro with 29 votes, then Reda Monfardi with 26 votes, and Ali Al-Haddad with 22 votes, to be the Council’s representatives in the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division.

The Council also formed a committee to prepare a draft response to the Royal Royal Speech, where Council Chairman Ali Al-Saleh explained that the Council used to choose new members in every new session, so that they would have the honor of meeting and shaking hands with His Majesty the King.

The formation of the permanent committees and the election of the Council’s representatives in the Parliamentary Division comes within the framework of the Shura Council completing its organizational structures, in preparation for undertaking its oversight and legislative duties during the fourth session of the sixth legislative term.
