Tomorrow (Sunday), the Shura Council will form, in its second session in the fourth session of the sixth legislative term, a committee to prepare a draft response to the Royal Speech, in accordance with Article (7) of the Council’s internal regulations, which stipulates that “The Shura Council shall choose a committee from members of the Council to prepare a draft response to the Royal Speech, and the formation of this committee shall be presented to the Council for approval. The committee shall study the Royal Speech and prepare a draft response to the Council in The date he determines and the response will be submitted to the King after its approval.” The Council will also form the permanent specific committees, according to what the Council’s office has concluded after coordination between the requests of Their Excellencies the members, while the results of the elections for the heads of the permanent specific committees and their deputies will be notified during the same session for the fourth session of the sixth legislative term. The session will witness the election of four from among Their Excellencies the members nominated to represent the Council in the Executive Committee. For the Parliamentary Division, in accordance with Article (8) of the Council’s internal regulations, which stipulates that “The Shura Council and the House of Representatives are the division of the Kingdom of Bahrain in international parliamentary conferences, and the Division shall have an executive committee formed at the beginning of each session headed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and with a membership of eight members, each council choosing four of them from among its members by election. Nominations shall be submitted in writing in each chamber to its president during the period he determines, and the President shall announce this.” Nominations. Elections are held among the candidates by secret ballot under the supervision of a committee formed for this purpose. If no one applies for nomination other than the required number, the candidates are declared elected by acclamation. The Executive Committee sets the rules regulating the conduct of work in the Division, and all members of the Division are notified of them. At the beginning of the session, the Council will be notified of the letters received by His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, with the number attached to them. Of the decree-laws issued in accordance with Article (38) of the Constitution, which include the decree-law amending some provisions of the Traffic Law, the decree-law amending some provisions of the Penal Code, as well as the decree-law amending some provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, the decree-law approving the concession agreement regarding the Juba and Qabi al-Taweel reservoirs in the Bahrain field, and the decree-law regarding the care, rehabilitation and employment of people with disabilities. The Council will also be notified. The decree-law approving the unified system (law) for international land transport between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the decree-law regarding prohibiting and combating money laundering and terrorist financing, the decree-law amending Article (161) of the Central Bank of Bahrain and Financial Institutions Law, as well as the decree-law amending some provisions of the Commercial Companies Law, the decree-law regulating the raising of money for public purposes, as well as the decree-law regarding sports professionalism.
