Hundreds of people from the village of Banub in the Dayrout center in Assiut Governorate attended the funeral of the young man Abdel-Wahab Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, 33 years old, a victim of a well collapse in Minya Governorate, after his body was recovered 12 days after the well collapsed.
This came amid the collapse of his family, colleagues, and relatives, and in the presence of the people of the village of Banub and neighboring villages in the center of Dayrout, where they performed the funeral prayer over the body, and held his final resting place in his hometown of the village of Banub.
Abdul Wahab’s sister said that the story began the Thursday before last with the arrival of their neighbor Muhammad. M., to her brother and informing him that there was a job in Minya Governorate, and given the nature of his work as a day laborer, he agreed and went with him in the hope that he would return with a halal livelihood for him and his family, but since that time there has been no news of him.
She added in exclusive statements to Cairo 24: The family kept waiting for Abdel Wahab to return all day, but he did not return, so they went to their neighbor’s wife to call him and find out the reason for Abdel Wahab’s disappearance, but her response was shocking, saying that his phone was switched off and she had no information about him.
She continued: We received a phone call from one of the people who told us: “See where your brother is. Your brother died. Look for him.” This confirmed to them that their brother was facing danger. His younger brother ran to the police station and filed a report against their neighbor in which he accused him of kidnapping his brother and recounted everything that had happened.
