The Saudi Food and Drug Administration warns of unidentified packaging for Badcef injections used in the treatment of bladder cancer

The Egyptian Medicines Authority warned against circulating packages of syringes of unknown origin on the market PADCEV Focus 20 mg and 30 mg, used in bladder cancer, specifically urothelial LFor people who have reached at least advanced stages of the disease and have failed other treatments.

The Egyptian Medicines Authority explained that the packages of unknown origin from the Badsafe injection are from batches No. 4MA2365 for the 20 mg injection and batch No. 3PA0183 for the 30 mg injection, stressing that they were not registered among the licensed batches in the local market, stressing the purchase of any pharmaceutical preparations of unknown origin or being sold online through illegal means.

The Authority called on citizens and healthcare providers to be careful, to ensure that medications are obtained from licensed pharmacies only, and not to handle any packages of suspected origin or appearance.

<p>It also called for immediate reporting of any suspected case of the PADCEV preparation via the hotline 15301 or through the Authority’s official website, where detailed pictures of the counterfeit preparation can be viewed.</p>
<p>PADCEV is an innovative drug for the treatment of transitional cell type bladder cancer in its advanced or metastatic stages, and is used for patients who have not responded to platinum-containing chemotherapy or to modern immunotherapies. </p>
<p>The medicine contains the active ingredient Enfortumab Vedotin, which works in a targeted therapeutic manner that targets cancer cells by binding to the Nectin-4 receptor on their surface, which leads to their selective destruction. The medicine is given under specialized medical supervision in hospitals or approved oncology centers.</p>
