Classes resumed Monday morning in Egyptian schools, witnessing a high attendance of students and teachers. The schools also received new classrooms, marking the first day of the new academic year. The Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mohamed Abdel Latif, directed that students enter on several days during this week.
Schools were keen to provide a cheerful atmosphere for students by organizing celebrations with balloons and drawings expressing the return of school, in an attempt to facilitate students’ adaptation to the start of the new school year.
School began for the new year on Saturday, September 20, and schools received about 25 million students, while the Minister directed teachers to pay attention to developing students’ reading and writing skills from the first grades as it is the basic foundation for building a strong educational personality.
The Minister stressed the need to take into account individual differences among students to ensure achieving the highest rates of educational attainment. He also emphasized explaining curricula easily to students to facilitate the learning process. This step comes within the framework of the Ministry of Education’s keenness to create an appropriate and effective educational environment for all students.
