The Moroccan national team achieved a great victory in the penalty shootout, 5-4, to secure advancement to the final of the Youth World Cup.
In the first half, the Atlas Lions appeared strong and organized, with a remarkable performance that put them one step closer to the final, as the players missed many other opportunities other than the goal of the half.
The Atlas Lions’ only goal in the first half came in the 32nd minute of the match via a penalty kick by player Ysir Mohamed Zubairy, and the French national team players were unable to score despite reaching the goal with more than one dangerous ball.
The match referee added 3 minutes of stoppage time in the first half, before blowing the final whistle to announce the end of the first half with the Atlas Lions leading by a clean goal.
In the second half, France was able to score the equalizer in the 59th minute through Lucas Michel, before Morocco missed many sure chances over the course of the second half.
The Moroccan coach made some changes in the match in the hope of winning and scoring the second goal, but the first and second half ended in a positive draw with a score of 1-1, before going to extra time.
The two sides were unable to score in extra time, so penalty kicks were resorted to, which saw the Moroccan national team win 5-4, advancing to the final match, awaiting the winner from Argentina and Colombia.
