Today, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, visited the Egypt Gold School of Applied Technology in Obour City, Qalyubia Governorate, where he listened to an explanation about the nature of study at the school and the practical training programs that aim to qualify students for the labor market in the fields of gold and jewelry.
This came during the field tour conducted by the Prime Minister in the governorate, to follow up on the general executive position of the various projects being implemented in the cities and centers of Qalyubia, in the sectors of health, housing, education, industry, roads, and public services, in the presence of Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia, and a number of executive leaders.
During his review of the executive position of the projects, the Governor of Qalyubia explained that the health sector in the governorate includes 24 government hospitals, 27 private hospitals, and 195 health units, with a total of 9,885 beds, pointing to the great boom that the sector has witnessed recently, as a number of new hospitals were opened, including: Qalyoub Central, Al-Qanater Al-Khairiya Central, Abu Al-Munja, Al-Khanka, Qaha, and Kafr Shukr, with a total of 591. beds, in addition to the Toukh Central and Obour hospitals, which have been completed and are entering service, with a total of 318 beds.
The governor also reviewed the projects of the “Decent Life” initiative at the Shebin al-Qanater Center, which included the implementation of 703 projects in 36 villages, including the sectors of sanitation, drinking water, electricity, natural gas, communications, roads, health, education, youth and sports, and service and agricultural complexes.
In the drinking water and sanitation sector, the governor indicated the completion of 25 new projects, most notably the Toukh, Kom Ashfin, and the Grand Facility water stations, pointing out that the sanitation coverage rate in the cities of the governorate reached 100%, and in the villages 70%, with the implementation of 164 sanitation stations since 2014 until now.
He also explained that Qalyubia Governorate witnessed an unprecedented boom in the road sector, through the implementation of an integrated network of main axes linking the governorate to neighboring governorates, including: the regional ring road, the Shubra/Banha Al-Hur road, the Lieutenant General Muhammad Al-Assar axis, the Lieutenant General Ibrahim Al-Orabi axis, the new Al-Khosos axis, and others, which contributed to improving traffic flow and supporting comprehensive development.
The governor also referred to the efforts to develop the informal industrial zone in Qalyoub, which includes a large number of factories operating in the metal and nail industries, explaining that work is currently underway to expand it by adding 70 new acres within the urban space, in preparation for converting it into a planned industrial zone in coordination with the Industrial Development Authority and the National Center for State Land Uses.
