This morning, Tuesday, October 14, the General Secretariat of the House of Representatives received a student delegation from Saar Girls’ Secondary School, to inform them of the work tasks of the House of Representatives and the most prominent stages of the comprehensive democratic process in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
This visit comes from the keenness of the Secretariat of Representatives to activate aspects of joint cooperation with all state institutions and all segments of Bahraini society and its components, especially public and private schools and universities, with the aim of serving the community, spreading parliamentary culture, and graduating new generations capable of understanding the roles and functions of parliament’s oversight, legislation, and parliamentary diplomacy.
The delegation was received by Her Excellency Representative Maryam Al-Sayegh, member of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee, where the visit program included an introductory video presented by the employee, Dr. Sheikha Al Aliwi is an executive legal researcher at the General Secretariat of the House of Representatives, covering the powers of the House of Representatives, the most important stations of the legislative and parliamentary experience in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the history of the founding of the House, the mechanism of work of the permanent committees, investigation committees, brotherhood and friendship committees, and others.
After that, the student delegation attended part of the second regular session of the House of Representatives in the main hall designated for holding the weekly sessions. They were briefed on how the work of the representatives proceeded during the session. They also toured the Parliamentary Museum, which highlights the scientific and cultural renaissance of the Kingdom of Bahrain in all fields through documentation of historical events, positions and national achievements.
