Dr. received. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transport and Communications, at the Ministry’s headquarters, Dr. Rumaih bin Muhammad Al-Rumaih, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Chairman of the General Transport Authority in charge of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his accompanying delegation, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries, and exchange experiences and expertise in the sectors of transport, communications and logistics services between the two countries.
During the meeting, Dr. confirmed. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transport and Communications, is keen on the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen fraternal relations and strategic partnership with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to advance them in the fields of transport and logistics services to serve common interests. His Excellency explained that the strong historical ties that bring the two countries together embody the lofty visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, and his brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his brother His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the care and continuous support they give to enhance cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various fields.
The two sides also reviewed the most prominent development and strategic projects, which included developments in the King Hamad Causeway project, the railway network of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the unified system of international land transport between the GCC countries, in addition to enhancing maritime connectivity between ports by establishing direct lines for goods and passengers, developing maritime transport for passengers for tourism purposes, cooperation in the field of maritime training and the exchange of academic and field experiences, in addition to coordination. Between the two brotherly countries in the International Maritime Organization.
In this context, the Minister of Transport and Communications stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to provide all the necessary components and capabilities to ensure the success of land and sea connectivity projects between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to strengthen the partnership in developing logistical services, as a qualitative step that reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, and contributes to supporting integration and strategic partnership between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in a way that achieves the development interests of the two countries. Joint, benefits both peoples, and contributes to enhancing the growth and prosperity of the region.
For his part, the Chairman of the General Authority for Transport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed his pride in the development witnessed by bilateral relations in the fields of transport and logistics services, praising the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in developing infrastructure and enhancing strategic connectivity between the two countries, and stressing the importance of continuing joint coordination to implement major projects that contribute to achieving economic integration and enhancing the logistical position of the two kingdoms.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Minister of Transportation and Communications, accompanied by the Chairman of the Public Transport Authority, took a sea tour to learn about the port and fleet of Masar Company, and to see the latest marine and commercial equipment and services, in a way that enhances maritime integration and cooperation between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
