Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Sports, congratulated Mohamed Hassan, the wrestling champion and one of the champions of the National Talent Project and the Olympic champion – the elite stage, after he was crowned with the gold medal in the World Youth Wrestling Championship for U-23 held in Serbia, after his victory over the Georgian champion in the final, in a new historic achievement for Egyptian sports.

The Minister of Sports stressed that this achievement reflects the success of the programs for discovering and nurturing talented people implemented by the Ministry, praising the distinguished level presented by the player, and stressing that the Egyptian state, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, attaches great importance to sponsoring champions and supporting them to achieve more championships and raise Egypt’s name high in international forums.
Earlier, Egyptian champion Mohamed Hassan achieved a new achievement for Egyptian wrestling, after winning the gold medal in the World U-23 Wrestling Championship, which was held in Serbia during the period from 20 to 27 October.
Mohamed Hassan won the final match over the Georgian champion, 3-0, to claim first place and the gold medal in the 67 kg weight category.
This is the second medal for Egypt after Adham Ayman won the bronze medal in the World U-23 Wrestling Championship.
Brigadier Saeed Salah, President of the Egyptian Wrestling Federation, thanked the players, staff, technicians and administrators of the World Championship for the achievement achieved so far.
