As part of his visit to the United States of America, the first team met Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of the Interior, and Tolsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States and Sheikh Hisham bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality and Passports and Residence and members of the delegation accompanying the Minister of Interior.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Director of US National Intelligence welcomed the visit of the Minister of Interior to the United States, noting its importance in developing the relations of the two countries, and opening more prospects for joint cooperation, praising the strategic partnership between the two countries in many areas of cooperation and joint work.

For his part, the Minister of the Interior affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to continue the civilizational approach and enhance the values ​​of openness, coexistence and support of peace, based on the royal visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, praising the close relations and strategic partnership that brings together the two countries and their common efforts in promoting regional stability.

He pointed to the importance of developing mechanisms for exchanging experiences, continuing to enhance joint cooperation and confront challenges, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly countries.

During the meeting, a number of security issues and strategic issues were discussed, in addition to the security challenges, and the requirement of security cooperation and coordination to confront and deal with them efficiently.

In a related context, the Minister of the Interior, and His Excellency Mr. William and Yoller met the director of the Middle East Programs Center in the Atlantic Council, who welcomed the visit of His Excellency the Minister of Interior to the center, praising His Excellency’s interest in communicating with the centers of studies and research and decision -making departments.

For his part, the Minister of Interior praised the role of the Atlantic Council in building a joint vision and the advancement of strategic thought by preparing strategic studies and analyzes and looking forward to future prospects in the areas of national security and foreign policy, noting the role of studies centers in correcting false information through all media platforms.

He pointed to the importance of the cooperation note signed by the Ministry of Interior and the US Department of Internal Security, in the field of border security, which depends on the exchange of information to protect the security and safety of the lands of the two countries, within the framework of developing border security enhancement programs, which require the signing of international agreements that support the employment of modern technologies in this field.

He touched on a number of projects and initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Interior, including alternative sanctions and advanced reform programs, noting the importance of working to protect the future and expand the areas of partnership to preserve young people, especially since extremism and intolerance are still a major threat, which requires their protection from these risks.

During the meeting, a number of security issues were discussed, in addition to efforts to achieve regional security.

During his visit, the Minister is accompanied by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States, His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs and a number of officials at the Ministry of Interior.
