
Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, received at the Ministry’s headquarters today, Ms. Maria Kuhn, Deputy Director of Government Relations and Public Policies for the global TikTok platform for the Middle East and Africa, and Ms. Janan Al Hashli, Head of the Public Policy Sector for the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries in TikTok.
During the meeting, the Minister stressed the Ministry of Information’s keenness to strengthen cooperation frameworks with major international companies in the fields of social media, such as the global TikTok platform, in a way that contributes to developing the digital media system in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and enabling national cadres to acquire the latest expertise and adopt the best global practices in creating purposeful content.
He explained that the Ministry seeks, through its partnerships with international platforms, to build an environment conducive to creativity and innovation, which reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain’s distinguished youth energies and talents capable of competing regionally and globally, and in line with the Kingdom’s goals aimed at consolidating its position as a leading regional center in the fields of digital and creative media.
For her part, Ms. Maria Kuhn and Ms. Janan Al-Hashli expressed the aspiration of the global TikTok platform to enhance cooperation with the Ministry of Information in the areas of training, exchange of experiences, and development of digital skills, in order to support content makers in the Kingdom of Bahrain and enhance the Kingdom’s regional and international presence in the field of digital media.
