Today, Sunday, Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, received Dr. Abdullah Khalil, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Endowments in the New Administrative Capital. To discuss aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries in the fields of advocacy, training, and spreading enlightened moderate thought.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Endowments welcomed the honorable guest, stressing the depth of the fraternal relations between Egypt and the Republic of Maldives, and noting that the Ministry of Endowments pays great attention to strengthening international partnerships in the fields of advocacy and religious rehabilitation, based on its mission to spread the values of tolerance and peace, and confront extremist thought.

Following the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives and his accompanying delegation conducted a field tour inside the Islamic Cultural Center and the House of the Holy Qur’an, where he viewed its halls and advanced facilities, and expressed his admiration for this religious and cultural edifice that embodies the greatness of Islamic architecture and reflects Egypt’s pioneering religious and cultural message.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives and his accompanying delegation also visited the Misr Mosque in the New Administrative Capital, where they learned about the mosque’s unique architectural landmarks and distinct religious and cultural components, expressing their appreciation for this great Islamic edifice, which is considered one of the largest mosques in the world and reflects Egypt’s position in serving religion and spreading the values of spiritual beauty and Islamic civilization.
The delegation praised the strength of cooperation, scientific and cultural exchange between the two countries, and the pioneering role played by Egypt in spreading the values of tolerance and moderation at the regional and international levels, while the Minister of Endowments stressed Egypt’s continued keenness to enhance cooperation with religious and legitimate institutions in various countries of the world, in a way that contributes to the exchange of useful experiences and knowledge, and enhances the sustainability of Egyptian intellectual leadership.
