The Bahrain Tech Ball team achieved a new historic achievement, after the duo, Rawan Abdulaziz and Fatima Al-Banna, qualified for the semi-finals of the girls’ doubles competition in the third Asian Youth Games, which the Kingdom of Bahrain is hosting until October 31, under the generous patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country.
This qualification is an important achievement for the Bahraini sport of Tech Ball, which marks its first attendance in this major continental event. The team demonstrates the remarkable development the game is witnessing in the Kingdom, through the distinguished performance and high determination shown by the two players during the course of the competitions.
The Bahraini duo’s qualification came after a series of strong results in the group stage, where Rawan and Fatima began their journey with a well-deserved victory over the Philippine national team in two clean games (12/10 and 12/10), then they continued to shine by defeating the Indian team two games to one (12/9, 8/12, 12/10), so that they deservedly topped the first group, and qualified for the semi-finals among the strongest four. National teams in the Asian continent.
Tomorrow morning (Wednesday), the Bahraini duo will meet their counterparts from the Chinese team, consisting of Jiang and Qin, in an anticipated confrontation that will be held at 10:00 am at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, in a decisive match in which the Bahraini team seeks to write a new chapter of achievements, qualify for the final for the first time in its history, and secure a historic Asian medal to be added to the Bahraini sports record.

As for the boys’ competition in the same game, the duo Hussein Issa and Ali Hassan ended their tournament after being eliminated from the group stage, despite the combative performance they presented against the teams of the Philippines, Thailand, India, Iraq and Mongolia.
As for the Kabbadi competitions, the Bahrain national team lost to the Iranian national team, and will conclude its participation today with two matches against India at 11:00 am, and Bangladesh at 5:00 pm, at the end of its tournament campaign.
