The Central Bank of Bahrain announced the operation of the immediate system for total settlements (RTGS) and the settlement of “Fawry” service operations by “Banft” company during the official holidays, which enables retailers customers to send and receive operations that exceed 3,000 Bahraini dinars through “Fawry” service throughout the week, including official holidays, starting from Friday, October 3, 2025.
In this context, Mrs. Hessa Abdullah Al -Sada, Executive Director of Central Banking and Central Operations at the Central Bank of Bahrain, affirmed the Central Bank of Bahrain to the continuous development of payment services, in cooperation with the banking sector and the application of policies and initiatives aimed at developing the infrastructure of financial markets and payment systems in order to achieve the desired economic goals.
She added that this initiative aims to extend the time frame of customers to transfer and pay money through the “immediate” service, noting that the bank added a morning settlement period during the official holidays in the immediate system of total settlements (RTGS), which allows customers to make transfers and electronic payments through the “immediate” service and deposit them by retail banks in the recipient accounts even on official holidays
