The Bahrain Olympic Committee signed two memorandums of understanding for sports cooperation with both the Indonesian Olympic Committee and the Iranian Olympic Committee, on the sidelines of the activities of the Third Asian Youth Games “Bahrain 2025”.
In the first memorandum of understanding, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, signed on behalf of the Bahraini side, while the President of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, Mr. Mr. Raja SaptaOktohari.
His Highness also signed the second memorandum of understanding on behalf of the Bahraini side, while on the Iranian side, the President of the Iranian Olympic Committee, Mr. Mahmoud KHOSRAVI VAFA.
The signing of the two memorandums of understanding was witnessed by His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority, and His Excellency Mr. Fares Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The two memorandums of understanding aim to enhance joint cooperation in the sports, administrative and technical fields, and exchange experiences between the two parties, in addition to organizing joint training camps and programmes, in a way that contributes to developing the performance of athletes and national teams in the three countries.
In a statement on this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his pride in signing the two memorandums of understanding, stressing that this step embodies the vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, in strengthening international sports relations, and opening broader horizons for fruitful cooperation with various Asian Olympic committees.
He also praised the interest of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness’s vision in building more relations with brotherly and friendly countries to serve the sports movement.
His Highness said: “The signing of the two memorandums of understanding reflects the distinguished position that Bahrain now occupies in the continental sports scene, and our constant keenness to exchange experiences with brotherly and friendly countries in a way that serves the development of Asian sports and achieves common goals under the umbrella of the Olympic Council of Asia,” His Highness wished the Indonesian Olympic Committee and the Iranian Olympic Committee success.
