The Kingdom of Bahrain’s camel team will participate in the Second Arab Cup Championship, organized by the Arab Camel Federation on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Square in the Wadi Rum region of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with wide participation from the Arab teams, under the supervision of the Bahraini Committee for Popular Heritage Sports, which has completed all necessary arrangements for the Bahraini team’s participation in this major Arab event.

The tournament includes ten main runs over distances ranging from 3 to 6 kilometers for the Thanaya, Al-Jaza’, Al-Laqaya, Al-Haqayeq, Al-Zamul and Al-Hail categories, where participants compete to win the championship cups and the financial prizes allocated for each run.

On this occasion, Ali bin Mohammed Al Fadel Al Marri, Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Committee for Folklore Sports, confirmed that the participation of the Bahrain national team in the tournament comes as an extension of the Kingdom’s interest in folklore sports, which enjoys great support and interest from His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Authority. Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee for Sports, pointing out that the committee was keen to prepare the team in a distinguished way that reflects the development of camel sports in Bahrain and the honorable levels it has reached at the Gulf and Arab levels.

He added that this participation comes within the committee’s plan to maintain the presence of the Kingdom of Bahrain in regional championships and enhance its position in this authentic heritage, which represents one of the most prominent symbols of Gulf and Arab identity. He extended his thanks to the Arab Camel Federation and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for hosting the championship and its distinguished organization, which embodies the spirit of cooperation and cohesion among the people of the Arab world.

It is noteworthy that the Kingdom of Bahrain had achieved second place in the first edition of the Arab Cup for Camel Championship, which was held last year in Al-Ula Governorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after an outstanding performance that received wide praise from observers. Today, the Kingdom continues its strong presence in the second edition of the tournament with great ambitions to achieve a new achievement that strengthens its position in the arena of heritage sports.
