On the occasion of the International Translation Day, which falls on September 30 of each year, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, in cooperation with the “We all read” association, organized a discussion session with Professor Yara Al -Masry from the Arab Republic of Egypt, in the Library of the Bahrain National Museum, in the presence of a number of cultural figures and those interested in literary affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During the session, Al -Masry reviewed her experience in translating Chinese literature with his various races, narration and short story, noting the cultural dimensions that these works carry that reflect the features of Chinese society. This event comes within the framework of the “Book and Place” initiative, which aims to enhance the culture of reading and highlight the various literary and translation experiences.

It is reported that Yara Al -Masry studied the Chinese language at Al -Alsun College at Ain Shams University in Cairo, and the University of Shandong University for Teachers in Jinan, China, and is considered one of the most prominent young translators in this field. She published a number of translations that dealt with poetry, novel and short story, and won several awards in appreciation of her contributions, and also participated in cultural activities inside China and in the Arab world.

It is worth noting that the United Nations adopted an international day of September for translation, in honor of the efforts of translators and linguists in building bridges of understanding between cultures and enhancing human dialogue by transferring knowledge and etiquette to multiple languages.
