The Internal Security Command in Tartous Governorate in Syria, in cooperation with the Anti-Terrorism Branch, was able to arrest an official in a terrorist cell linked to the remnants of the former regime, and involved in planning to carry out terrorist operations.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement published on its Telegram channel: Based on accurate information and extensive investigations, and with extensive field follow-up, the Internal Security Command in Tartous Governorate, in cooperation with the Counter-Terrorism Branch, was able to arrest Ali Falara, who is responsible for a terrorist cell linked to the remnants of the former regime, and who is involved in planning to carry out terrorist operations targeting the locations of Internal Security personnel and Ministry of Defense forces.
The Ministry added: The results of the preliminary investigations showed that the aforementioned was planning to carry out terrorist acts in coordination with Ghayath Dallah, which included recruiting elements hostile to the Syrian state. He was also proven involved in committing serious violations against civilians during his previous work in the Palestine Branch, which included kidnapping, extortion, and murder.
According to the statement, during the inspection, pre-equipped weapons and ammunition stores were found in the woods in the Dreikish area, which were prepared to be used to target the positions of the Internal Security Forces and the Ministry of Defense forces.
The statement pointed out that Flara was referred to the competent judicial authorities to complete investigations and take the necessary legal measures against him, while the Ministry of Interior affirms its full commitment to preserving the security and stability of the nation.
