Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, stressed the need to urge all member states of the Inter-Parliamentary Union to recognize the State of Palestine, and to mobilize international parliamentary positions to support the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, including their right to self-determination and end the occupation, stressing efforts to immediately bring relief aid and medical supplies to all areas affected by the war on Gaza.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives pointed out the importance of supporting and sponsoring the two-state solution negotiations initiative in accordance with international legitimacy, stressing that the Arab parliamentary efforts made by parliaments and legislative assemblies in international meetings and forums confirm continued cooperation and coordination of positions in order to develop common visions that support issues and topics of interest to Arab countries and peoples.
This came during the participation of the delegation of the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in a coordination meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Group, held this evening (Saturday), in the city of Geneva in the Swiss Confederation, on the sidelines of the work of the 151st General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the accompanying meetings, where the meeting was chaired by Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al Sheikh, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, and a number of heads and representatives of Arab parliaments.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives also affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm and firm position in support of the Palestinian cause, noting that the Kingdom of Bahrain pays continued attention to building bridges of parliamentary cooperation and coordination with Arab parliaments, based on the foundations and foundations of Bahraini parliamentary diplomacy.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives stated that the ideas and discussions witnessed in the coordination meetings of the Arab parliaments reflect a parliamentary commitment and responsibility to highlight Arab issues and urge the adoption of joint decisions among the parliaments of all countries of the world, which contribute to overcoming the challenges facing the countries.
This, presented by Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al-Sulaiti, member of the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and representative of the Arab Group in the Union, presented a detailed report on the activities and programs carried out by the Union during the past months, and also reviewed the agenda of the Governing Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
For their part, the heads and representatives of Arab parliaments discussed viewpoints and coordinated positions on supporting the Palestinian cause, the two-state solution, and bringing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
