Sohag University takes third place nationwide in the battle against illiteracy with 11,821 students.

In a new national achievement in the field of literacy, Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, announced the university’s success in eradicating the illiteracy of 11,821 citizens during the July 2025 session, thus achieving third place among Egyptian universities, according to the classification of the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education.

Commenting on this success, Al-Nomani said, “We are proud of what we have achieved in this session, and it is clear evidence of the university’s commitment to its societal role. This achievement was not the result of coincidence, but rather the result of integrated efforts between the university administration, faculty members, and students, and fruitful cooperation with the General Authority for the Eradication of Illiteracy, who took upon themselves a social and national responsibility towards their community. He directed sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to this success, especially the university students, who are stone.” The foundation and backbone of this achievement.

Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, confirmed that the University continues to achieve top positions in the field of literacy. This success would not have been achieved without the deep belief in the University’s mission to serve society, and the implementation of the directives of the political leadership towards building the Egyptian human being and advancing him cognitively and educationally.
