Sobhi honored the women’s handball and Paralympic delegations after their impressive achievements in the World Championships, where he expressed his pride in those achievements that reflect the great efforts made by the male and female athletes in order to achieve sporting excellence and present an honorable image for national sports. This moment was an opportunity to highlight the importance of continuous support for women’s and Paralympic sports to enhance participation and competitiveness at the global level. Sobhi also stressed the need to invest in these achievements to raise the level of Awareness of the importance of sport in society and its role in developing the personal and social skills of male and female players
Honoring sports heroes in Egypt
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, honored the women’s junior handball team born in 2008, which achieved a remarkable achievement by winning the African Handball Championship held in Algeria. The delegation of the Egyptian Paralympic team (Dhakni) in athletics, which participated in the World Championships in Australia, was also honored, in addition to the delegation of the Paralympic swimming team (Dhakni) which participated in the World Championships in Thailand, in appreciation of their efforts in raising the name of Egypt stands high in international sporting forums, as these achievements reflect the spirit of determination and dedication of our heroes.
Motivating young people to participate globally
The Minister of Youth and Sports received the junior handball team, born in 2008, to motivate them before they travel to Morocco to participate in the World Championships. He expressed his pride in the honorable achievements of these champions, and stressed that the Egyptian state, under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, pays great attention to sponsoring champion athletes and supporting them in various games, whether Olympic or Paralympic, which reflects the government’s commitment to promoting sports in Egypt.
Sustainable support for sporting champions
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi pointed out that the Ministry continues to implement programs to prepare champions, and to provide all the ingredients for success, including training camps and integrated care, to ensure continued achievements and ascension to international podiums. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Minister saluted the technical and administrative bodies, and praised the role of sports federations in the continuous work to discover talents and hone their abilities to achieve more successes in the future, which reflects the Ministry’s vision to achieve sports excellence in Egypt.
