A woman named Saadia Semaan, a resident of the Manshiyet Nasser area, appeared live on the Cairo 24 website, to narrate the details of her suffering after she was exposed to a medical error that caused her health condition to deteriorate and threatened her with the loss of her foot.
A woman accuses a famous doctor of causing her bone decay with Mokattam
The woman said during the broadcast that she had undergone surgery to install screws in her foot after suffering a fracture about a year ago, but her condition deteriorated significantly after the operation, as severe pus formed at the site of the surgery, and the treating doctor’s attempts were unsuccessful in controlling the complications.
The victim added that one of the doctors told her later that her condition required urgent intervention and could lead to foot amputation if the pus continued to spread. She confirmed that she had resorted to the relevant authorities and submitted an official report accusing the doctor of causing the deterioration of her health condition.
The woman explained, while crying during her speech, that her husband suffers from a heart disease and does not work, and she was the one supporting the family before the accident, noting that she had to sell her own apartment to undergo medical operations, and now lives with her family in the home of her father, who is sick with cancer.
Saadia appealed to the Minister of Health to intervene to save her and provide her with the necessary medical care, saying: I have a young daughter and I want to raise her. I feel lighter.
The concerned authorities are conducting their investigations into the incident, to take the necessary legal measures regarding the incident.
