
Brigadier General Physician Sheikh Fahd bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Medical Services and Chairman of the Central Committee for Managing and Regulating Human Organ Transplantation and Transplantation, stated:

He added that organ donation is not just a medical act, but rather a sublime humanitarian message that embodies the highest values of giving and solidarity, pointing out that the Royal Medical Services is constantly working to strengthen this culture, so that it becomes part of society’s daily behavior, because of its direct impact on the lives of patients, as since the launch of the organ transplant program in November 2023, the medical teams at King Hamad University Hospital have been able to successfully perform 54 kidney transplants and 19 liver transplants, which is living proof of the efficiency. He stressed that work is continuing to develop the program and expand its scope through continuous training of medical personnel, adopting the latest surgical techniques, and cooperating with advanced medical centers, with a focus on continuous community awareness to enhance the participation of citizens and residents in the organ donation campaign, to ensure the continued saving of the lives of everyone in need.
He pointed out that the Royal Medical Services organized several educational programs and workshops to introduce the importance of organ donation, and live testimonies from patients whose lives were saved, with the aim of spreading a clear humanitarian message that enhances the culture of community participation.
