Major General Dr. Tariq Hamid Al-Shazly, Governor of Suez, directed the executive agencies to raise the state of preparedness and emergency in conjunction with the wave of weather fluctuations that the governorate is currently witnessing, the drop in temperatures, and the Meteorological Authority’s warnings of disruption to maritime navigation during the coming hours.

A source at the General Office of the Suez Governorate said that the governor stressed to the heads of neighborhoods the need to ensure that equipment is ready to confront any reports or rainfall, and to prevent the accumulation of water in the streets, in addition to ensuring that rain drainage paths in all areas of the governorate are cleared.

The source pointed out that Muhammad Abdullah, the head of the Ataqa district, dealt with the flood dumps and ensured that they were completely cleared to ensure the drainage of rainwater and prevent its accumulation.

In the same context, Major General Mohamed Abdel Rahim, Chairman of the Suez and Red Sea Ports Authority, announced continuous communication with the Meteorological Authority around the clock to monitor weather conditions in the Gulfs of Suez, Aqaba and the Red Sea, and take any measures to ensure the safety of navigation traffic.

Port officials also ensured the presence of navigational signs and the activation of operating rooms around the clock, in light of monitoring moderate winds that may affect maritime navigation traffic in the Suez ports.
