In a quick response to what was published by the Cairo 24 website, regarding the distress call of a sick woman who was refused treatment at Al-Hussein University Hospital, the hospital announced its immediate intervention and provided the necessary medical care for the case, in implementation of the directives of the hospital administration on the necessity of quickly dealing with humanitarian cases and providing therapeutic services urgently.
Sabah told Cairo 24 a painful incident, in which she indicated that one of the doctors refused to treat her despite her critical health condition, which caused her to enter a state of severe bleeding and her health condition to deteriorate.
She explained that she was surprised by the request to leave the hospital without a clear reason, demanding that an investigation be opened into the incident and that those responsible be held accountable for the negligence.
After Cairo 24 published its distress call, the administration of Al-Hussein University Hospital took action and decided to follow up on the case immediately, while providing the necessary treatment and continuous medical supervision to ensure the stability of her health condition, stressing the hospital’s keenness to provide medical service to all patients without discrimination, and to respect everyone’s right to care and treatment.
The patient’s family thanked Cairo 24 for the quick response and dissemination of the distress call, and the hospital administration for its rapid humanitarian interaction, hoping that the incident would be an incentive to strengthen oversight and improve services provided to patients within government hospitals.
