On Thursday evening, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, opened the activities of the 33rd session of the Arab Music Festival and Conference, which is organized by the Cairo Opera House, headed by Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam, and directed by Maestro Tamer Ghoneim, as the festival this year celebrates the planet of the East. Opening ceremony and celebration of art
The opening ceremony was held at the Nafoura Theater in the Cairo Opera House, in the presence of the Deputy Director of the Festival, Maestro Dr. Mohamed Al-Mogy, in addition to an elite group of public figures, ambassadors, and heads of sectors of the Ministry of Culture. The Minister of Culture stressed that celebrating Umm Kulthum is an invitation to every young artist to draw from her artistic legacy, and be inspired by her spirit that continues to illuminate the paths of creativity. Honoring creators and reviving heritage
In the context of the celebrations, ten creative personalities who contributed to enriching artistic life in Egypt and the Arab world were honored, including Dr. Hisham Sharaf (Jordan), the artist Naima Samih (Morocco), and the poet Al-Hadi Adam (Sudan), in addition to honoring the authentic Egyptian voice Amal Maher, who presented during the opening ceremony a collection of famous Arab repertoire works. The ceremony began with the national anthem and the showing of a film that included excerpts from the March of the Planet of the East.
