Paul Scholes, Manchester United legend, directed sharp criticism at three of the team’s current players, stressing that they are no longer able to keep up with the format of the English Premier League, noting that their physical level is no longer qualified to play at the highest level.

Scholes criticizes Shaw, Maguire and Casemiro
In statements to the British newspaper The Times, Scholes singled out Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, and Casemiro for criticism, considering that they were no longer able to keep up with the requirements of the English Premier League, despite their great history, saying: “Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Casemiro are excellent players, but at this stage of their career, it has become easy to expose their weaknesses in the English Premier League.” If they are not in ideal physical condition, their bodies are not fit enough, nor strong nor fast enough. “Their level has declined to the point where it has become difficult for them to keep up with the pace of the tournament.”
The Manchester United legend continued: “Players in the English Premier League have become like machines: their fat percentage does not exceed 5%, they run non-stop, they are strong in tackles, and they are excellent in the air. Unfortunately, Manchester United includes players who cannot currently match these standards.”
The trio remains a staple of Amorim’s lineup
Despite the criticism, the three players are still in the starting lineup of coach Ruben Amorim this season. Luke Shaw has participated in all the league matches so far, while Casemiro has missed only one match due to suspension, while Maguire has participated in seven out of eight matches in all tournaments, and despite his decline in performance, reports indicate that Harry Maguire is in talks to extend his contract with the club, but Scholes believes that This step is not justified given his current level.
Scholes: Signing Casemiro was “exaggerated”
Scholes also criticized the deal for Casemiro, who joined from Real Madrid for 70 million pounds three years ago, saying: “We got carried away with this deal, and there are many similar deals that did not achieve the required addition.” Despite this, the Brazilian still forms an essential part of the midfield duo alongside Bruno Fernandes, and is expected to start the team’s next match against Liverpool.
