The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed during a round of negotiations in Doha to an immediate ceasefire between them, as a round of negotiations was held in Doha between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Afghanistan, mediated by the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey.
According to the statement issued a short while ago by the Qatari Foreign Ministry, the two sides agreed during the tour to an immediate ceasefire and to establish mechanisms concerned with consolidating permanent peace and stability between the two countries.

The two parties also agreed to hold follow-up meetings during the next few days, to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire and to verify its implementation in a reliable and sustainable manner, which contributes to achieving security and stability in the two countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar’s aspiration that this important step would contribute to putting an end to tensions on the borders between the two brotherly countries, and that it would form a solid foundation for sustainable peace in the region.
