Our first national football team is looking to play a friendly match against one of the African teams next November 17 during the FIFA days. This approach comes in light of the desire of the technical staff to provide a strong experience that prepares the team in the best possible way before facing the Djibouti (African) team on November 26 in the qualifying round for the Arab Cup (FIFA Qatar 2025), where victory in that match, God willing, will lead our team to qualify for the group stage to be in the group stage. One group with Iraq and Algeria and the qualifier from the match between Sudan and Lebanon.
There were initial consultations to meet the Cape Verdean team, which recently qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals, but that idea appears to have been initially abandoned for technical reasons, so the federation began searching for an alternative African team whose participation would fit with our team’s schedule and preparations.
Through this friendly match, the team aims to raise the degree of readiness and harmony among the players, and to enhance the technical and tactical aspects before going into the decisive confrontation against Djibouti, through which it seeks to reserve its place in the next edition of the Arab Cup.
