The Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Assiut Governorate announced the launch of veterinary convoys to villages and centers, bringing with them free treatment, technical support and guidance for small breeders, within the framework of the state’s plan to enhance veterinary care in the Egyptian countryside.
Organizing a veterinary convoy in the village of Al-Zawiya
Dr. Gamal Sayed Ahmed, Director General of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Assiut, said: A free veterinary convoy was carried out in Al-Zawya village in the Assiut Center, under the supervision of Dr. Tariq Gamal Farag, Director of the Assiut Veterinary Administration, and with the participation of specialized teams of doctors in care and treatment, reproductive care, and veterinary guidance, in addition to doctors from the Veterinary Administration in Assiut.
The convoy was implemented in cooperation with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Assiut University, led by Professor Dr. Madiha Darwish, Dean of the Faculty, in a model that embodies the integration between academic expertise and field applications, and reflects the effective partnership between state institutions and universities to serve the community and develop the countryside.
He added that the veterinary convoy succeeded in providing its services to 772 livestock and animals, in addition to dealing with 3,235 poultry. This organized effort reflects the extent of solidarity between the medical teams, and highlights the vital role of the veterinary convoys in supporting small breeders and improving the level of veterinary care provided within the villages.
At the conclusion of the convoy activities, he expressed his pride in the efforts made by all the participating teams, stressing that reaching breeders in the villages is a national duty and a humanitarian mission, and that the directorate will continue to work with all its energy to support livestock, maintain food security, and achieve sustainable development in the Egyptian countryside.
